Committees

Mitchell PTO Committees

We are always in need of new committee members or assistance with on-going activities.  We're looking folks to help with publicity, planning, obtaining sponsors and prizes, reading, luncheons, library and office help, student clubs, etc throughout the coming school year.  If you're interested, please obtain a PTO Volunteer Sign-Up sheet at the school office or leave a message at the school office for Stacy Scott-Sturgess, Mitchell PTO Volunteer Coordinator.

  • After School Clubs
    This committee is responsible for the after school clubs that are not funded by the Middle School Initiative Act. Making sure the clubs have all that they need to continue running smoothly.
     
  • Clothing Bank
    The clothing bank committee is responsible for running a clothing drive once a year and taking the lost and found items twice a year to the Clothing Bank.
     
  • Fall Festival
    The Fall Festival is an annual community event. It is a very large endeavor and needs quite a few volunteers. This committee is in charge of the planning and successful running of this event.
     
  • Family Fun Nights

    • This year we are having 4 family fun nights which cost nothing for the families attending. The PTO will be paying for these nights and it is a time to get together and just have a really good time! This committee is in charge of the planning of these events.
     
  • Instructional Council
    This is a very small group of parent who sit in on the IC meetings, usually held twice a month.
     
  • Volunteer
    This committee is in charge of calling all new volunteer sign ups and making them feel a warm welcome with the PTO.
     
  • Yearbook
    The yearbook committee is in charge of the planning, layout, and collection of the yearbook.
     
  • Ways and Means
    This committee assists with coming ideas of different ways of raising monies for the PTO, as well as assisting in the actual fundraising activity.
